REPROVIDE research study

REPROVIDE is a research study looking at the effectiveness of a group behaviour change programme for men. As part of the research, our partner organisations are delivering a 23-week group programme (with additional 1-1 support) for men who wish to change their behaviour in intimate relationships.

We cover Gwent, Wiltshire, Somerset, Bristol, Bath, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.The programme is free, is delivered by highly skilled workers and has been designed by leading experts in the field. It takes place over 23 weeks, and is run in Bristol, North Somerset and South Glos (BS3 – Tuesdays), Wiltshire (Chippenham – Tuesdays, Salisbury – Wednesdays), Somerset (Taunton – Wednesdays, Shepton Mallet – Thursdays) and Gwent (Blaina – Thursdays). The programme includes: Communication skillsAnger management and stress management toolsA chance to explore the reasons for abusive behaviours.

A non-judgmental space to address behaviours you want to changeTo be eligible for the Reprovide study and group programme men must: Have intimate relationships with women, be over age of 21, be concerned about their behaviour towards a current or former partner, have had contact with their current or former partner within last 12 months (even if only via the courts) Agree to pass on their ex-/partner’s details.

Men are not eligible for Reprovide who: Have ongoing family court cases where Children’s Social Services are not involvedHave ongoing criminal justice proceedings for a crime against ex/partner.Have been court mandated to attend a domestic abuse behaviour change programme.Information and a self referral form are available on our website https://reprovideprogramme.blogs.bristol.ac.uk/.
