Art Therapeutic Community Studio Upstairs supports creative and personal recovery through arts practice. We provide an art therapeutic studio for adults (18+) where we offer membership to join a small group (around 10 people at a time) in person. This is aimed to support the group members mental health, wellbeing and artistic development. The Studio, a working arts community, exists to provide artistic resources and therapeutic support to people experiencing mental and emotional distress and to those in drug and alcohol recovery. We provide and maintain a working artists’ Studio, which is a community where people produce their own artwork – in whatever medium or format they determine – within a supervised, social, creative and therapeutic framework. We deliver flexible and considered artistic, educational and therapeutic support over the medium to long term. We advance public education by challenging the stigma surrounding mental health; this aim is attained through public exhibitions. high profile events and publications. Members attend on a regular weekly basis and are supported by qualified, registered and experienced arts professionals and therapists. To find out more or submit a referral, please visit our website.
